Snow condition
Good snow conditions east of Lake Lucerne. Everything is very homogeneously snowed in. Some of the gullies and hollows in the lower areas could do with another round of wind.
Snow quality
Down in the valley, super fluffy snow from the last snowfall on Thursday. Above the tree line, the wind whistled towards us and shifted quite a bit, making it very variable. Further up, sheltered from the wind, it was much better again. There is about 15 cm of loose snow on a crust of rain.
Risks
During the tour, it suddenly blew quite a bit above the tree line. Some of the snow was blown away and we chose a very defensive ascent route and considered turning back several times. On the descent, we observed a triggered snow pack. Further up and a slightly different expo with no wind and few drift snow packs. Some loose snow slides on the south side
Overall impression
Wonderful tour - avoided the crowds and made some nice turns.
