Snow report Central Switzerland, 01/27/2016

Snow condition
Well below average. The variants above 1800 meters such as Steinberg or Grosses Sulz can be skied well and without stone contact. As already described in the teaser, the variants can be skied almost like pistes. I wouldn't ride anything below 1800 meters - such as the Laub - at the moment. There are too many stones and roots.
Snow quality
Everything is available except powder. Between 3000 and 2000 meters, the terrain is reminiscent of a soft slope after snowfall. Further down, crushed slush or hard snow.
Risks
SLF reports warning level 2. Due to the warm temperatures, the danger of wet snow avalanches will increase. Some have already fallen on the southern slopes below 2000 meters.
Overall impression
Well, despite everything, two wonderful days in the mountains. In any case, I'm in good shape now, if there are still one or two good days to come... And the peace and quiet in the Steinberg is simply heavenly every time. It's worth taking a break in between, enjoying the peace and quiet and remembering what a beautiful place I get to live in.
