Champagne Pow auf dem Titlis
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
520 centimeters on the Titlis, 155 cm on Trüebsee, 55 centimeters in Engelberg. From top to bottom, not a stone, not a branch, not a thing. In Steinberg, well over 50 centimetres of fresh snow have been added in the last 24 hours. It was a little less in the foliage. There, you sometimes hit the hard pack when you hit the bend too hard. But that's complaining on a very high level.
Snow quality
Champagne blow-powder at its very best. The Steinberg in particular was simply perfect, with faceshoots at every turn. This sport is practiced precisely for these days, for this snow.
Risks
SLF reports warning level 3, warning of fresh snow that has fallen on a hard base and the two layers have not bonded. Nothing out of the ordinary was observed in the Titlis region today. In the Hoch Ybrig area in the canton of Schwyz, an avalanche triggered a major rescue operation - but fortunately there were no injuries.
Overall impression
My first pow day after breaking my ribs. It was high time for the comeback, because these are the days you spend countless hours training for in summer, dreaming at night, hoping for every snowfall. Champagne pow, sunshine and not as many people as on other days like this. If you were to end the season when it's at its best, it would probably have ended today. There are no special photos today. It was too good to get my hands on the camera.
