Snow condition
This can be summed up briefly and succinctly here: a clear run from the summit to Engelberg! The only thing peeking out of the snow are chamois up to their necks in snow.
Snow quality
The snow quality varied greatly today. In the Steinberg it was very good in many places. Where the wind was up to mischief, it could have blown off or the powder was covered with a light cap. The snow was not so good today in the foliage. You could tell that the temperatures were a little higher yesterday because of the foehn and that the wind was probably a bit stronger. The result: a thin cover, especially in the lower part, and wind-pressed or blown off at the top.
Risks
The avalanche bulletin reports warning level 3 - considerable and warns of fresh snow and accumulations of drifting snow, which will now be covered by fresh snow and will be difficult to recognize.
Overall impression
I went up the Titlis today without any great expectations. But the weather and snow (in many places) were really good. And due to the rather modest weather forecasts, many freeriders probably stayed at home. Because the pistes were really full and the backcountry was really relaxed today. Tomorrow is a downday. 40 centimetres of fresh snow is supposed to fall. I hope I can somehow postpone my session on Monday morning.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
