Snow condition
The amount of snow yesterday was the best part of the day. The stones are hidden everywhere under a meter-thick blanket of snow. On the Titlis, the mountain railroads report 6.44 meters, on the Stand it's still 3.64 meters and on Trübsee 1.79 meters.
Snow quality
The conditions are very difficult at the moment. In Steinberg, the fun of skiing is being destroyed by a 5-centimeter-thick layer of crushed harsh snow. It's almost unrideable and very dangerous for the knees. In the foliage, the snow is softer, but every last centimeter is ploughed up like a potato field. It needs replenishing...
Risks
SLF reports warning level 2 for the Titlis area, with more danger currently coming from old avalanche cones that are piled up meters high in the foliage. Some of the boulders are covered in snow and icy. At the weekend, I know of two freeriders who shattered their knees as a result.
Overall impression
At the moment, it's probably much more fun on the slopes than off-piste. The slopes are simply perfect. In the backcountry, supplies are needed to make the conditions fun again. In any case, the base is more than there. But unfortunately it doesn't look like a big dump in the next few days...
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
