Snow report Central Switzerland, 02/08/2015
We set off today without any great expectations and were very pleasantly surprised. The wind filled in the furrows in the ploughed backcountry, the cold preserved the fluffy snow and around 10-15 fresh snowfalls were the icing on the cake.

Top. From top to bottom. There's not much more to say at the moment.
Snow quality
Even though the big snowfall was a week ago, the quality is still top thanks to the cold temperatures. Only where the sun has put out its feelers is there a thin layer of fresh snow underneath. But the northern slopes are alive and well.
Risks
The breeze has transported a lot of snow and the snow has not yet bonded properly due to the cold. You should avoid hollows and gullies in central Switzerland at the moment. LWS is still 3.
Overall impression
If expectations are exceeded by far, that's a good sign. As far as I'm concerned, it could stay a little colder if the snow stays nice and fluffy. But this wish will probably not be fulfilled if the weather forecasters have their way. What a pity. But tomorrow I know what to expect. Have fun in the snow
