Snow report Central Switzerland, 02/08/2015
Ohne grossen Erwartungen sind wir heute losgezogen und wurden sehr positiv überrascht. Der Wind hat die Furchen im umgepflügten Backcountry aufgefüllt, die Kälte hat den Schnee fluffy konserviert und ca. 10-15 Neuschnee waren das Sahnehäubchen obendrauf.

Top. From top to bottom. There's not much more to say at the moment.
Snow quality
Even though the big snowfall was a week ago, the quality is still top thanks to the cold temperatures. Only where the sun has put out its feelers is there a thin layer of fresh snow underneath. But the northern slopes are alive and well.
Risks
The breeze has transported a lot of snow and the snow has not yet bonded properly due to the cold. You should avoid hollows and gullies in central Switzerland at the moment. LWS is still 3.
Overall impression
If expectations are exceeded by far, that's a good sign. As far as I'm concerned, it could stay a little colder if the snow stays nice and fluffy. But this wish will probably not be fulfilled if the weather forecasters have their way. What a shame. But tomorrow I know what to expect. Have fun in the snow
