Snow report Central Switzerland, 02/26/2014

Half a meter of fresh snow wouldn't hurt on the Titlis either - more and more stones are appearing or are hidden under the 10 centimetres of fresh snow that fell on Thursday night. Nasty. The fresh snow wasn't enough to cover the tracks in the plowed backcountry. PS: In Engelberg, at 1000 meters above sea level, it even rained yesterday evening.

Fortunately, the slopes in Engelberg face north. So the snow quality is still surprisingly good - apart from the fact that everything has been plowed up. With a bit of luck, you can still find really good powder.

Risks

The backcountry has been ploughed up, certain slopes have been flattened like pistes. A good opportunity for freeride beginners to get to know and study the slopes. SLF reports warning level 2, but ATTENTION - avalanches can occur even in moderate conditions. This means: don't forget your equipment.

Riding the Leaf or Steinberg is also fun when everything is rutted. The nature, the 1000 meters of altitude and the adventure make my heart beat faster even in "bad" conditions. But of course: it desperately needs snow.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
