Snow condition
Week ago we got a big dump in friday night and saturday morning was a mess with hundreds of people in the lift lines. Once we got up the mountain we put on our skins and hiked for some peace and awesome snow. After saturday it was bluebird for many days with out new snow. That gave the opportunity to do bigger terrain and longer days out. We visited the one hütte between the glaciers and stayed overnight. Great experience with great weather and snow!
Snow quality
Long time since last fohn wind so snow has stayed pretty light. Off course some sun heating on a southern slopes but still powder in shady sides. All the stuff from lifts got beaten up in the weekend and we only got around 10cm of new snow in wednesday night and some more on thursday so you have to earn your turns if you like to draw your own lines. Still soft snow though even if it has been skied a lot.
Risks
No sign of avalanche activity what so ever. Avalanche danger has been 2 for a couple of weeks now and the snowpack seems pretty solid to me. But still have to be careful if you ski something that doesn't get skied much regulary.
Overall impression
Great week and unfortunately last week for us in Engelberg. Got some bigger trips done that we had planned as the weather played along. Looks like that beginning of march will bring lots of new snow!
