Snow report Central Switzerland, 03/04/2014
It has been snowing a little over the last few days. Just under 20 centimetres have fallen in central Switzerland. And because everyone was apparently in Lucerne for the carnival instead of in the mountains, with a little traversing you could find wide, virgin slopes.

Snow condition
As it snows a little every week, but then gets warm again, the snow depth in Central Switzerland remains constant. Even if the snow conditions are rather modest compared to other years, it is enough to avoid contact with stones and to get down well everywhere.
Snow quality
The fresh snow has fallen without wind and is of good quality. Of course, you can tell that spring is slowly approaching. The snow is no longer as fluffy as it was at the height of winter.
Risks
Avalanche warning level 2. I haven't seen any signs of avalanches all day today. If it really does get as warm as forecast over the next few days, wet snow avalanches could slowly become an issue.
Overall impression
Really a beautiful day. Five minutes of travesing, for descents on virgin slopes and good and sufficient fresh snow. There should be more days like this this winter.
