Highs and lows on the Titlis
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
The snow conditions on the Titlis are still 5-star. There is so much snow that you can easily ski down even in places where you would have to jump down meter-high rock faces in other, less snowy winters. And there are no stones, no grass, no nothing. Not even on the ridges.
Snow quality
Now it's getting complicated, because the snow quality is currently changing from day to day. Last week the snow was once so sticky up to 2000 meters that it almost pulled you over the front even with a strong back position, then it was again so hard that your knees and ankles almost took collateral damage, then it was quite ok again, with rather heavy and wind-pressed powder. But from tomorrow there could be a decent and good supply, at least in the higher areas like Steinberg.
Risks
At the moment, SLF is reporting danger level 2, but this is likely to change soon with the onset of precipitation and the danger level will increase. Before I read the coffee grounds: www.slf.ch.
Overall impression
Highs and lows have alternated on the Titlis over the last few days. Although the lows have tended to predominate. Let's hope that the approaching low will provide a good supply. We deserve it after a week with temperatures as low as -25 degrees.
