In central Switzerland, the snow conditions are quite good. All variants are skiable, even if the snow is 300m higher on the north and south sides below 1400m. Much less in the north (Engelberg) than in the south.
Snow quality
Saturday in Engelberg 15cm -25cm fast speedpow on a hard surface. It was great to ride, but there was a lot of dust. Our plan B destination on Sunday in Andermatt got significantly less. 5cm on a hard surface.
Risks
Quite relaxed. If you're not just tromping around on some cornices, the conditions are quite safe. The risk of hitting rocks or falling/crashing on hard surfaces is higher.
Overall impression
Unexpectedly great conditions in Engelberg on Saturday. You just had to be careful that the FWT guys didn't shoot you down, as they came jumping out of all the cliffs.
On Sunday we wanted to go on a bigger tour, but decided against it because of the forecast clouds, so we did something from the area (Andermatt) in modest snow conditions. With the good base and fresh snow in the north, some steeper stuff is certainly possible.
