Snow report Central Switzerland, 03/26/2014
Engelberg-Titlis: There was half a meter of fresh snow on the Titlis at the weekend. The snow quality was mostly still very good today. But there is one problem: in the Titlis area, every single centimetre of the backcountry has been ploughed up like a potato

Snow condition
Thanks to the 50 centimetres of fresh snow on Sunday, the snow conditions on the Titlis are very good. However, where the snow had melted or blown off before the snowfall, the new snow that has fallen forms a deceptive, nasty layer over bare rock...
Snow quality
At 3000 meters and on the northern slopes, the quality is still excellent. However, if you want to enjoy it, you have to earn your way down by climbing the less frequented routes. The rest has been ploughed up - every single square centimetre. At lower altitudes - I'm talking about the lower part in the foliage - the snow is already heavy again.
Risks
SLF continues to report warning level 2 and we have triggered individual small snow slabs on steep slopes. However, the snow should now settle. However, the risk of wet snow avalanches is likely to increase again during the course of the day.
Overall impression
There has never been as much snow as at the weekend during the whole winter. But unfortunately we were two days too late. Nevertheless, we were probably able to ski all the routes for the last time this season - including Galtiberg. Therefore: three points.
