Snow condition
Yesterday evening the measuring stations showed a few centimeters. At the check this morning +80cm. In the valley it was a wet 30cm. From 1500m you can see impressive amounts of snow. It almost doesn't get much better than this.
Snow quality
Well, it was basically good at the top, not mega fluffy and rideable, but the amounts were just too much - it was sinking with the powder board. At the bottom it was wet grout.
Risks
According to SLF, there was "an unexpected amount of fresh snow". And that's how it was. Steeper stuff would have been fun, but with the amount of snow, the risk of getting baked into a terrain trap somewhere was too great. We didn't trigger anything on the small yo-yo routes and it seemed stable, but the sheer mass of the heavy fresh snow alone said: "Not today"
Overall impression
Lowest day of the season. One star for that. One star for the few face shots and one for the snow conditions.
In terms of skiing, it was more of a rush, but still impressive to be out and about in so much snow...
