First-Line-Stress in Engelberg - dem haben wir uns so gut es geht entzogen. Trotzdem noch einer der besten Tage der Saison.

An incredible amount of snow above 2000m. Below that it decreases quite quickly and there's basically nothing left in the village. Over 50 cm of fresh snow at 2500 in the last few days.

Very fine, it doesn't get much better than this.

Risks

Seeing some spontaneous slides in the ski area. Lots of wind in the upper areas! According to SLF a 3. Although it's not my first time in Engelberg, it's always amazing (or rather frightening) how easy it is to ski everything in 2 hours. And how many people go into the (steep) terrain without equipment and reasonably safe downhill skills.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

Super snow, great weather and lots of people. No greetings anywhere (am I too spoiled by the Pyrenees?), everyone in powder stress, too many idiots in the terrain: that was enough Engelberg for this winter. It was still nice though.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
