Snow condition
The Galtiberg descent was possible all the way down into the valley. Possible does not mean good. But possible. The last 300m in the forest lacked a base. With experienced locals from central Switzerland as "pre-sliders", there are no deep shark bites.
Snow quality
Up from Titlis, the first 500 vertical meters are actually a powder paradise with about 15-20cm of fresh snow. Partly packed in. The old tracks are therefore irrelevant in most places. In places exposed to the wind or with a lot of danger, however, the surface is very "varied". From halfway up the Steinberg, you are riding on a frozen, icy surface. In some places it even shines through. In other places, such as on the Galtiberg descent, the fresh snow cover is enough for fun - but you should take the sound out of the video afterwards. It's brutally scratchy! The upper part of the Laub is just as bad to ride as the lower Steinberg section. If you have a lot of thighs, you can shoot, but it's only fun at the bottom. As soon as the bushes are able to hold on to the slope, the bumps become less and the surface more even. This is mainly due to the less steep gradient. In the afternoon, upper body tension is required, otherwise your chin will quickly end up on your knees when the snow brutally stops and sticks just behind the edge of the forest.
Risks
According to the Slf, a nice 1 in the morning with only a small amount of fresh snow over the weekend. Nevertheless, it's still slippery, which is mainly due to the icy-warm surface. In most cases, there is only slugh. Exactly the 10 cm of fresh snow surface from the weekend. During the course of the day, the slf warns of the wet snow avalanches typical of April and the avalanche warning level rises to 2. We don't see any in and around the area.
Overall impression
With such good company on the mountain with local guide Sandro, who unerringly finds hiking trails for safe descents, hiking trail straightline stair transmitter Basti and also a spontaneous surprise from Volker, who rides over shitfuck snow as if it were nothing - actually a 5-star day. The aforementioned snow between 2500 and 2000 makes the overall result an april 4. A special highlight was, of course, the Weizen with direct foliage observation and water-ski surprised body clauses in the stop snow.
