Engelberg - A real Easter powder day, 20-40cm of fresh snow and more to come!

Snow condition
From 1500 upwards it is white. All descents from TItlis towards the lake justify the Steinberg's name in the lower parts of the glacier. It's cracking and rattling from the creek and in the traverse skiers right. On the Jochstock it's a little better in the wind.
Snow quality
You could give at least one more star for the cold, fluffy flying stuff, but there are quite a lot of fragmented, destroyed crystals and also sleet in the upper layers, which make it a bit more difficult in the blown-in zones.
Risks
The difficult slopes described above can be triggered from a certain steepness. On the glacier, the steep face is a wall of ice as all the snow has gone down as a board with a crack edge of approx. 30 cm. In the southern areas, there are small to medium-sized wet snow slides. This is despite the fact that it was very cold overall. I suspect that the warm, sweating old snow cover soaked the new snow from below. The sleet described above will not be able to support the coming snowfalls and the massive drifts that set in during the afternoon (see the skiers on the slopes slanted by the wing). Take care!
Overall impression
It was a real powder day. So we give it five stars. One and a half stars deducted for wind, lack of visibility and lack of descent to the trunk. You can't do anything with 3.5. As it was the best day of the season for me, I'm rounding it up
