Exposition
Snow condition
As usual - plus 50cm at 1800m. It's white down to the valley and you can ski down to the trunk with feeling. Mid-levels are also great again.
Snow quality
Yesterday the finest April Blower with little visibility - today a bit more settled, but still top quality. The last few meters in the foliage a bit heavier and a bit windy at the top.
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
The fresh snow has bonded well with the old snow cover. No fresh cracks seen. Strong winds and snowfall set in from 12 noon, which will certainly lead to larger snow packs.
Overall impression
Powdering blind yesterday and enjoying the April powder today with good visibility. Lots of wind from 12 noon - off through the leaves and waiting for the refill. 5 stars missing due to lack of sunshine and upcoming wind. But acceptable for mid-April. It will be a while yet and the spring tours will have to wait again.
