E-MOUNTAIN VALLEY THE PRE-DUMP CR
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Three very conservative stars for May. Directly in front of the dump was the base yesterday. Maybe interesting for anyone who wants to go back to the Pampa tomorrow. From 1300+ there is virtually a closed snow cover in all exposures except south.
Snow quality
Three to four. Sleet is known to ride well. From 1 p.m., it quickly turned into snow. It slid damn well with the increasing cold. But the only thing that was stealing was the cloud of mist steaming out of my clothes in the heat.
Risks
Sleet is known to be dangerous for subsequent dumps. It didn't sleet for long, the temperature dropped very quickly and so the fog disappeared again relatively quickly before the intense snowfall. Quasi well moistened so that it could really get going afterwards. All in all, a very sticky blanket of snow that creates large balls on steep slopes but rarely seems to move as a mass.
Overall impression
A nice walk before the highlight of the AGM meeting of the fishermen's representatives.
PowderAlerts don't always come just when you have time. Nevertheless, it was an eventful day, not with a first ascent, but at least with new perspectives on familiar terrain and we remain curious to see what we can do next time.
