Ride the elephant - or the somewhat different withdrawal therapy
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Start at 2300m on a bare glacier so actually 0 stars. From 2600m then with snow cover. But this is actually only a nuisance.
Snow quality
Blank ice with sand and stone inlays and frozen summer snow. No firn or slush, everything optimal: - 0 stars
Risks
No activities
Overall impression
I always do this in June. Wait until the Furka Pass opens. Then wait until the crowds have died down, the glacier is clear and you're on your own. Book an old room at the Belvedere and hope that it doesn't stupidly snow again the day before you arrive, otherwise the therapy won't work. Then tackle the Damma/Diefen/Galen or all the poles and don't carry your skis on the glacier as you can see in the pictures. The man really hasn't understood anything. That reduces the overall success of the therapy. So ski over all the elephant junk. If that's not enough, get stuck somewhere and then tear your elbows, palms and clothes, then you won't want to ski again for a while. It works. Winter sucks, finally no more skiing!!! So see you in November...CU
