Snow report Central Switzerland, 11/30/2015

The good and the bad are so close together. At the weekend, the Titlis was still considered the ski resort with the most snowfall (102 centimetres) in the Alps. But a storm on Monday ruined everything. Freeriding remained wishful thinking today. At least it was

Sufficient on the slopes down to the valley. Only very rarely do stones get in the way. Everything is completely blown away in the terrain. We actually wanted to ride the foliage today. But finding a way down today would probably have been more difficult than finding a way through the most difficult labyrinth in a crossword puzzle book.

At 2200 meters it was just under 0 degrees today. At 1800 meters +4 degrees. The snow was correspondingly heavy in the afternoon. It certainly won't get any better over the next few days. The zero degree limit is moving to over 3000 meters, at 2000 meters it's still 10 degrees.

Risks

The snow has definitely settled, the avalanche danger has decreased. SLF reports warning level 2, but cones of wet snow could be seen on steep slopes. And on the slopes above Engelberg, at around 1200 meters, small slabs of snow have fallen down to the meadow.

Just missed is also over. At the weekend, the foliage was still in dream conditions - at least if you believe the Facebook post. But now the magic is over. But to take something positive out of the whole thing: It now has a base.... But the next few (warm and sunny) days will certainly not do it any good. After all, the sun only reaches the northern slopes of the Titlis region for a short time at this time of year - if at all.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
