Exposition
Snow condition
absolutely great snow conditions for the beginning of winter in central Switzerland. we don't dare to go into the dense forest yet, despite the pillowline you usually don't touch any stones on open areas. small contacts without major loss of material are possible, however, due to the early season.
Snow quality
uiuiuu fresh 30cm of powder, at the top at 1900m quite loose, unconnected. in the expo mostly untouched by wind influence. subsoil already solidified, on tops maybe stone/bush contact possible.
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
there is a great avalanche danger in parts of central Switzerland above 2400m, which is why we stay strictly below 30° today and avoid ridges and slopes close to ridges. even 30° is still great fun!!! the wind intensity increases strongly during the course of the day. We break off at 2 pm.
Overall impression
ohlala! what a day! Weighing up the risks wasn't easy today... but in the end we found a great slope with forest, contrasts, pillows and 30°. As there's no one else on the trail, one slope or the same descent from 1900m to 1100m is enough. Snow on our faces included:))) What a start to the season! Outlook for the next few days: oho unfortunately the snow is falling with a lot of wind, it remains dangerous and the choice of tour/slope should be carefully considered.
