Snow condition

It's December 10 and it's the end of February in Central Switzerland, just like the last few years. And... it's getting more every day. By Wednesday alone, another 100 centimetres are expected to fall. Nevertheless, due to the strong winds, stones and grass must be expected in exposed areas. But it's easy to avoid these places.

Snow quality

5 von 5 Sterne

Silky-fine power that sifts through the sieve like powdered sugar sprinkled onto the cake. It really doesn't get any better than this. Only a little capped in places exposed to the wind. But even these areas can be easily avoided. Therefore: full stars.

Risks

SLF reports warning level 3, and the danger is unlikely to get any smaller. On the contrary. The stormy wind, which is also expected to blow in the coming days, is transporting a lot of snow. The fresh accumulations of drifting snow are prone to disruption. According to the SLF, danger level 4 will be reached by the evening. Be careful out there. Winter is still a long time away.

Overall impression

5 von 5 Sterne

A dream in white. Fluffy power in rough quantities. And a good portion more every day. It can go on like this all winter long for all I care. One more comment: I can't believe how many groups - including children - were out and about in the deep snow. Without a backpack, without avalanche transceivers, without experience. I can only appeal to the common sense of parents and ski club leaders - and not because I want the deep snow for myself alone, but because I can't understand it. So that's enough for the word on Sunday. Ride safe.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
