Snow report Central Switzerland, 12/11/2014

Gemsstock Andermatt: Wow - you won't find as much snow as in Andermatt anywhere else in central Switzerland!!! Unfortunately, it's windswept, so you don't get that real freeride feeling here either.

The downhill run is also closed from Gemsstock. But there really is enough snow at the middle station. The amount of snow is given as almost 3 meters. This means that practically no stones are visible.

So powder is good on the slopes. Unfortunately, almost all the snow has settled, or rather it is wind-packed. You can still find good conditions in certain areas. But if you keep skiing through broken snow in between, you're not really relaxed on the slopes...

Risks

Warning level 2 is indicated on the Gemsstock. Nevertheless, a number of explosions could be heard shortly after closing time today. However, I didn't notice a snow slab lying anywhere at the foot of a slope all day.

Those who prefer to avoid the slopes will find the best conditions on the Gemsstock. Freeriding requires fresh snow. However, unlike most other Swiss ski resorts, there is a very good base.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
