Descents into the valley are possible, but you can still feel the ground quite clearly. You can tell that there was nothing there before. With the next snowfall it will certainly be a lot better.
Snow quality
Not as fluffy as expected. The whole thing has settled quite a bit. There was also a slight lid, which was not a problem when driving, but it didn't really dust...
Risks
Nothing conspicuous observed all day, but this can look very different at higher altitudes. A few sliding snow chutes on sunny grassy slopes and an audible descent somewhere in very steep terrain.
Overall impression
Very nice New Year's tour with few people and great weather. It can go on like this...
