The variant terrain in the Grands Montets area resembles a lunar landscape of rock and ice. At least you no longer ride over the sharks but now slide on top of them in the event of a fall.

Hard, pressed snow

There is still loose powder snow in the steep, wind-protected and north-facing terrain close to the ridge. On the Glacier de la Pendant, however, hard and transformed snow predominates. Falling is bad at the moment.

Risks

Crevasse or fall danger

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

The main danger at the moment is the risk of falling.

As the skis want to be moved but the snow doesn't offer much at the moment, we have decided to explore new paths. The Bochard Ridge is a beautiful ridge climb followed by a ski descent. Unfortunately in very icy snow conditions.
