Snow condition
For Aiguilles Rouges see yesterday's report, downhill runs from the Flegere/Brevent ski area are no longer possible. Grass and stones are coming out and there are also carrying passages. In Grands Montets more wind and back blown away.
Snow quality
Excellent slope quality in the area. In the off-piste terrain, everything is groomed down to the last square centimeter. Only the south-facing gullies are soft for a short time, but then it quickly becomes too boggy and dangerous due to wet snow. As soon as the sun is gone, the off-piste terrain freezes back together to form an icy crater landscape, only to send numerous skis into a tailspin again the next morning.
Risks
Unchanged from yesterday. Wet snow becomes more relevant as the weather warms up. Fresh drifts like in the LLB were not to be seen in the ski area. Keep an eye on the high ridges! Yesterday, the Aguille du Midi was closed due to strong high-altitude winds.
Overall impression
Those who still want to find good snow will find it in the many north-facing gullies of the Aiguilles Rouges. The dry and sunny prospects otherwise only give hope for high winter firn.
