Valentienstag in Grand Montets, da bekommt man alles was man sich vorstellen kann. Regen, Powder, Sicht, Nebel, Sonne, Wind, Graupel und gute Laune.

The locals say they haven't seen this much snow in the village for three years. However, the open slopes at the top are marked by the strong wind. The places where stones are always sticking out have become real rock fields. I'll deduct one star for that. I couldn't make out anything above 2700. It was closed because of the wind. But there seems to have been a lot of snow. Anyway, everyone who has tomorrow off is already looking forward to tomorrow.
Snow quality
Heavy at the bottom. From 1800 to where it rained it gets much better. The knee-deep stuff is really great. Above the forest border everything is blown away but still nice and soft.
Risks
The heavy stuff seems to be very dangerous. The col de montets was closed all day for this reason. All the snow that was blown away certainly didn't just end up in Valais, I would be very vigilant when driving in open terrain. And be skeptical of large, seemingly soft snow fields.
Overall impression
Those who could overlook being blown through could have a lot of fun. Provided they found a line with visibility and snow.
