Descent to valley (to 1300 m)

There are a lot of stones sticking out on the ski slopes. It's a bit better off-piste. But the descent down into the valley is a proper ice-slab slide. If you ski down after the piste closes, you can at least enjoy the snow cannon powder.

Hard, pressed snow

Not a single square meter of powder snow to be found. On the Rognons glacier towards the Argentière basin, very hard snow pressed by the wind. There is now a danger of falling almost everywhere on the steep terrain as the snow surface is icy hard. Take particular care when crossing to the left of the glacier break. Crampons in your backpack are extremely helpful at the moment.

Risks

Crevasse or fall danger

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

The danger of hard snow slabs in steep terrain was obvious.

Equal

Very little rainfall in the last few weeks. Everything is pretty dry. Lots going on and you probably have to search a bit for good snow...we haven't found it in the last few days. The Rive Droite icefalls in the Argentière basin are in very good condition and are well worth a visit.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
