Snow condition
There is little change in the snow conditions compared to the last reports. There are no descents into the valley except on the Grands Montets piste. In the off-piste terrain, stony ridges look out further and further. The Vallé Blanche is limited, with short runs just before Montenvers.
Snow quality
The temperatures on the Aiguille du Midi are currently below -30 degrees. It's also very cold in the Argentiere basin. The snow is therefore not easy to drive on and slippery.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Beware of frostbite and the risk of falling. In these temperatures, it's easy to get a white nose... so wrap up well, keep moving and drink warm drinks.
Overall impression
The Argentière Basin resembles an Arctic desert landscape. The only thing missing are polar bears and the odd arctic fox. The quality of the snow here at the moment is good for expedition training but anything but suitable for freeriding. Various ice lines are very good at the moment.
