Exposition
Snow condition
Massive warming and worsening snow conditions at low and medium altitudes over Easter. The last few meters to the Montenvers Gondola become thin very quickly. Still possible without stone contact.
Snow quality
Firn almost everywhere. Vallé Blanche rather late start recommended for the classic descent. 10 a.m. gondola currently ideal for good firn depending on the downhill route. from 2 p.m. heavy snow from the Salle a Manger
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
Wet snow avalanches even from steep rocky terrain. She (tear-off photo) made a huge bang. Take care on ascents or descents with complex / unknown / snowy terrain above you.
Overall impression
From winter to spring over Easter was quicker than I would have liked. Can't do anything with the warm temperatures at the moment. Hopefully the night-time radiation will improve a little over the next few days and it will be colder again overall.
