Descent to valley (to 1200 m)

The Grands Montets valley run is now groomed. In the terrain, there are fewer stones to get through as the base has settled a little. Many mountain pines are still sticking out and nothing is possible in the forest. But you can only get all the way down via the ski slope without having to mess around.

Wet snow
Powder snow

Still great powder to be found on the north side. Towards the Argentiere basin, the powder has settled a little and is hardly affected by the wind. From around 1800 m upwards, it got warmer the day before and there are heavier layers under the 10 cm of fresh snow, which makes skiing a bit more difficult.

Risks

No warning signs

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

In the wind-protected area on the edge of the Argentiere basin, there is little to no avalanche activity compared to the ski area. Perhaps because there has been no blasting here and the danger is snowed in...

Worse

Grands Montets opens again at the weekend for the time being. During the week there is therefore hardly anything going on in the Argentiere basin. There is already a lot of snow from the previous days. But with around 10 cm of fresh snow, you can still find good spots. Over 2000m on the north side, sheltered from the wind and not too steep. At the moment you can find the best compromise between safety and fun.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
