10 cm fresh snow

Unfortunately it rained until yesterday morning up to 2000m. Some fresh snow above that but with wind. The Grands Montets descent is still open but very icy. The Flegere descent was not yet open but is now completely snow-free. Lots of stones in the off-piste terrain of Grands Montets. it doesn't make serious sense to try bigger ventures here. there are plenty to try.

Hard, pressed snow
Powder snow

below 2200 meters the snow is miserable. Rain crust. Above that it's getting better, especially on the north side. But the wind has shifted a lot and uncovered new stones. Powder snow is best found in shallow hollows that are not too stony.

Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)

Sharks. Strong wind from south west today. Yesterday successful blasting at the index. Small crack thicknesses approx. 5-10 cm but in total a lot came down.

Equal

There is currently nothing to be won in the area near the slopes of Flegere and Grands Montets. Some coreshot collectors are out and about. I have the feeling that some people are changing their skis more often than their underpants. If you want to find decent powder, you have to work hard to gain altitude. The fun starts at an altitude of around 2200m. I recommend north-facing, not too steep hollows. Ideally with a glacier base with few crevasses. Corner of the Aiguille de Grands Montets or the north side in the Aiguilles Rouges, whereby the exit to Buet should still be bushy according to hearsay.
