Snow condition
After reasonably heavy snowfall yesterday, there is some great but somewhat heavy powder in the Vallée Blanche and surrounding slopes. Unfortunately, not all the rocks are snowed in deep enough to allow us to ski safely and without fear. The skis got a few scratches, especially below 2,500 meters.

Snow quality
Powder further up and slightly heavier snow the further down you go. We avoided descents to the NW as the snow was very wind transported.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: medium
Above: 2200 m
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Apart from a few superficial, small spontaneous avalanches, no signs of danger seen - still avoided slopes towards the NW due to suspected drift snow. Large crevasses are visible, but sometimes the feeling creeps in that you might cross a thin snow bridge here and there...
Overall impression
Great day in the Vallée Blanche area with lots of deep powder and a beaming face. If you know your way around, you'll probably still be able to find a few untracked slopes over the next few days.
