Exposition
Snow condition
below 1000m the amount of snow has decreased on average since last week. above that it looks a bit better again on the north side. a lot of base still above 1500 in the northern sector, also in the forest. the 40-60 cm of new snow announced by the bay. lwd must have settled a lot. in any case, old tracks are less disturbing than feared.
Snow quality
when watching other skiers, you could hear it scratching and feared the worst. on my own descent on a slightly different line, however, it was brilliant and still surprisingly light pow, especially in the light forest. Sensational for the time of year! below 1200 on the north and other expos up to far above have a cap. but it doesn't ride badly either due to a minimal soft surface layer. flat surfaces and sunny areas became slower around midday, it's best in the (tree) shade.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Wet snow problem, not yet relevant in the morning on the north
Overall impression
maybe the last blower of the season?? could be good. like last friday, the only way to find out if the cold in the snowpack will last overnight is to try it out. North-facing, not too steep (altbollen), not too flat (sun) is the place to be tomorrow.
