Exposition
Snow condition
Very good snow conditions for the time of year in Courmayeur too.
Snow quality
Hardly any powder to be found now. The snow quality has suffered everywhere due to warm temperatures (22 degrees in Aosta). In high, sheltered locations and flat terrain, only slightly thawed powder can be found. but there could be a crust in the next few days
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
Massive warming during the course of the day. Can become a danger in exposed areas, especially in steep, rocky terrain, as the masses of fresh snow in recent weeks are enormous.
Overall impression
Although the risk of avalanches is decreasing, the risk of accidents is increasing. The supposedly safer terrain has become much more treacherous with the warming of the fresh snow masses. Because there is a 2 in the morning. Several spontaneous avalanches in the area, some of them right onto the slopes, are impressive proof of this. (Flegere)
