Not overwhelming, but not miserable either. Above the tree line, the wind has done a great job. On the south side, it's very tight on the downhill runs. On the shaded side, you can still ski down into the valley (e.g. Val Veny & Dolonne).

Above 1,800 m, the snow is relatively dry and there is dust with every turn. Below that, it quickly became very damp and slab-like. Unfortunately, the fresh snow only partially covered the old tracks. It was great today on rarely used forest routes.

Risks

It was clear from the outset that the südstau would not be so massive here, but it was even less than expected. Nevertheless, the wind and the 10 cm of fresh snow led to a tricky situation. The sluff was an issue in the steep forest terrain. Due to the poor visibility, not much more could be seen.

All in all, it was a satisfying day in Courmayeur. Despite the poor visibility and the small amount of fresh snow, a few nice treeruns were possible. The wind and snowfall are set to continue over the next few days. If it gets colder, it will be interesting ...
