Snow condition
in the Langental you can start skiing from the parking lot. closed snow cover on the valley floor. The south sides are mostly bare except for 2000+ on the north side where there is sufficient snow in hollows. However, stones lurk on small ridges and terrain transitions.
Video
Snow quality
expo north soft layers. Partly recycled drift snow. Light wind cover in a few places. expo west due to sunlight Harsch cover in the morning or crust. softened at midday. Due to the cold temperatures, there is still good snow to be found in hidden north-facing gullies or hollows
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
Less wind influence here in the Vallunga compared to Val Lasties, but also less skiable terrain. Small wet snow slide on a steep western slope at about 1500m
Overall impression
Not very rewarding for skiing at the moment. That's why there are only a few ski tourers in the valley. At least you can start your tour from the parking lot in Wolkenstein. The footpath to the far end is now also groomed. The north-facing icefalls are in much better shape.
