Unfortunately, even the more abundant snowfall of the last week has not changed the overall situation: there is a lack of surface. Although there is now 10-20cm of snow all the way down to the valley in Kals, contact with stones, meadows or wood is almost unavoidable. Above the tree line, the snow is almost completely blown away: ridges are extremely blown off.

It's cold and so the snow from last week has held up well and has been supplemented by small amounts from the foothills of the northern congestion. With a base, it would be great to ride. It's fine on alpine pastures, but unfortunately not yet in the forest or even on rocky ground.

Risks

According to the LLB in East Tyrol 3, in some parts of Tyrol 4. On the main ridge I would also consider 3 to be critical, because snowfall has always "swung over" from the nordstau and this with a lot of wind. You can see it more than clearly on the ridges. And there are also quite widespread signs of wind. I would hardly dare leave the trees at the moment. Low visibility and lots of drifting snow make the situation quite tense.

Alpine pastures and light forests are "the place to be". I wouldn't go there with new skis yet. However, the little fresh snow did the pistes good and so we spent half a day skiing on the new Blizzard piste weapons for the 16/17 season on the very well-groomed pistes in the Glocknerresort.
