Snow report East Tyrol-North Carinthia, 03/29/2019
Wandertag am Mons Glockner
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Enough snow to be able to take off from the Lucknerhaus. Due to the southern exposure of the ascent, there are still a few patches of grass and rock to be found in the lower section (< 2600 m). At the top there is more than enough snow.
Snow quality
Everything was frozen hard as a rock from bottom to top - the descent was more like a foot massage as there were lots of small to medium-sized chunks of ice spread over a large area. I guess this opinion changes for skiers who come down after 10:30 am.
Risks
Classic spring touring conditions. We had no observations of any wet snow slides etc.. No older cones to be seen either.
Overall impression
Dream weather, despite Friday it was already quite busy. The only way to avoid the drama in the saddle was to set off early or late.

Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
