There was still snow as far as the Lucknerhaus, so you could start directly from there on skis. However, the night was so warm that only a rather thin layer of snow could form. From about 2500m we continued on crampons which served us well up to the Adlersruhe, otherwise there was a closed snow cover and no fine contact far and wide.

Warm, warm, old snow - the warm nights and the onset of summer have done a great job and made everything outside the "ascent & descent highway" quite rotten. We had been looking forward to a firn descent on the ascent. In the end, however, it was hard snow that turned directly into snow. (Firn for 150 m)

Risks

As expected with the isothermal snow layer, there were some magnificent slides to observe. Unimpressed, the caravans set off towards the Stüdlhütte at midday - Darwin sends his regards.

Quite nice - but only because you've done a few metres of climbing. The descent falls more into the "must do" category.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
