Snow report East Tyrol-North Carinthia, 05/30/2016
Almost a bit of a May winter feeling - good fresh snow with moderate visibility in the Schober group

Overall impression
Snow condition
Despite the high starting point (approx. 1900m) you still have to carry for an hour on the NW side. A little better on the N side, you can ski down to approx. 2300-2400m. Fresh snow from about 2600m, above 3000m a good 10 cm.
Snow quality
Pretty good. Of course, the fresh snow is relatively damp (depending on the altitude), but it was very easy to ski, certainly also thanks to the freshly waxed skis. Underneath, from bottom to top: slush, broken snow, compact, damp old snow.
Risks
Manageable today. Only a weak diurnal cycle due to the significantly lower temperatures. Very wet at the bottom due to the rain, but still relatively compact. Will change again as the temperatures rise...
Overall impression
Despite the mostly poor visibility, I give it 4 stars because the descent, when it briefly opened up, was all the more beautiful. It was also nice that it wasn't so stupidly hot, at the summit it was really drafty and slightly flaky... It was a really nice May with almost always great snow. I don't want to stop yet, unfortunately my work schedule for June looks really shitty...
