Snow condition

Surprisingly little snow in the (dense) forest up to 1400 despite the shady location. Above that, the snow cover increased rapidly and snowed in very well.

Snow quality

4 von 5 Sterne

Very nice powder snow with surface frost on top in the alpine pasture area and above. Harsh near the ridge and on the crest.

Risks

Since the day before yesterday a 2. Fresh sliding snow avalanches (down to the ground) could be seen in extremely steep terrain. Above the tree line there were signs of wind and on a slope with a temperature of approx. 33 degrees there were suddenly very strong booming noises. Luckily we were already at a safe spot. But there was no crack / snow slab.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

The dream slopes (including great snow) were marred by a forest zone typical of the area, which we ultimately overcame mostly on the forest road. Nevertheless, a (close) four-star day.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
