Snow condition

4 von 5 Sterne

On March 2, it snowed about 60 cm. The snow depth in the area - approx. 3 meters - is still above average for the time of year.

The long-awaited fresh snow from last week has significantly improved the downhill conditions everywhere in Val Forno! However, we've also had one or two strong northerly winds since then. Crests, ridges and north-facing slopes are more prone to wind, while couloirs and hollows tend to be nicer to ski. On the slopes where we were today (SE / SW), there was mostly powder snow - partly with a light wind cover, but partly also simply perfect.

Risks

The fresh snow has already settled quite well and the old snow is fairly stable to very stable. There hasn't been much drift snow in the last few days. Overall, the avalanche conditions are slowly but surely becoming quite good again. Level 2 according to the bulletin should be about right.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
