Of course a lower four in terms of snow depth, but definitely a very good amount of snow considering this year's winter. In a long-term comparison, however, I would only have given it a 3.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne
Hard, pressed snow
Breakable crust
Wind drifted snow

Very inhomogeneous. In the valley (up to approx. 1400m) frozen melted snow cover (thin). At some point during the last precipitation phase there was rain. Further up dry old snow, still soft in parts protected from the wind. Otherwise very different up to broken snow.

The 2 applies to areas above the tree line, below 1. The avalanche warning level dropped very quickly after the heavy snowfall period (up to 1m of fresh snow). The "No danger signs" notice applies to the area of our ski tour route (Blasenegg). In the steep southern flanks there were numerous snow mouths to be seen - many of which had already gone down as sliding snow avalanches.

Worse

The weather is set to deteriorate tonight with snowfall and poor visibility. Strong warming is forecast from next week.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
