First Powday

Overall impression
Snow condition
Today the first lifts were open up to about 2350m. Powder was available above 2000m in all exposures. There was about 40cm of loose snow on top of the abundant snow cover.
Snow quality
Wind played little or no role here. In the afternoon we noticed a slight crust on the south-facing slopes at 2000 meters. Otherwise, the powder was very good and the skiing was outstanding
Risks
Today a triple in the entire area on all exposures. Apart from one blown avalanche we couldn't find any more. However, there was some skiing >40° in the whole area which looked borderline...well, it went well.
Overall impression
This morning we had actually expected a mega rush...but it was limited and we were able to enjoy first powder lines all day long! What a powder day!
