Snow report Gressoney Monte Rosa, 02/16/2014
Freeriding in Gressoney and Alagna
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Above-average amount, about 10-15cm added last night.
Snow quality
In the morning hours and on the shaded side a nice new layer of powder, which was unfortunately destroyed by the sun in the afternoon in the south and west exposures.
Risks
A few wet snow avalanches were seen on the southern slopes around midday as the weather warmed up. Otherwise, the fresh snow cover on the surface in particular was easy to trigger in steep passages.
Overall impression
Nice day today, clouds rolled in from the valley around noon, but didn't really hinder us as we could always escape them :D
