About 30cm of fresh powder overnight. That was the good info: good descent even in Weissmatten, right into the valley. In the forest there is only a good base from about 1800m. Below that it's rather difficult.

The whole dump was accompanied by very strong winds. It blew all day today too. All exposures, even in the forest, are capped. No lift operation in La Trinite today because of the storm.

Risks

Very tricky. Level 4 in the Monte Rosa area today, reduced to level 3 for tomorrow in Gressoney. Lots of fresh snow, lots of drifting snow and an old snow problem. When it gets warm, there'll probably be a wet snow problem too, but there's plenty of snow here now, above 2000m.

We had been looking forward to a FatDay and were very disappointed, because of the storm and the lid even in the forest, quite a reduced fun factor. But at least there's enough snow here.
