Snow report Gressoney Monte Rosa, 03/16/2015
Die Südstaulage voll ausgenutzt. 4 Tage keine Sonne gesehen, dafür Powder vom Feinsten. Das video (siehe Link unten) sagt alles über die Verhältnisse ;-)

Overall impression
Snow condition
Very good. Should be average. However, the steep southern slopes have been emptied and free of snow before the fresh snow. Otherwise well snowed in. Gressoney and Alagna valley runs very good.
Snow quality
In the early morning after plenty of fresh snow overnight, it was first class. However, it quickly became soggy and wet in the lower regions. Above 2000m and on the north side still perfect.
Risks
Considerable. The fresh snow (50-60cm) fell on a hard icy crust. The connection is poor and we triggered a few small slides. Above 2500m it was quite windy and there were large accumulations of drift snow. However, the snow settles quite quickly at this time of year. Today was the first sunny day in 4 days.
Overall impression
An absolute freeride paradise. Even though we skied 4 days in fog and mainly in the lower regions, we were able to recognize the huge potential. As of today, the weather is better again. The conditions in the high mountains should be perfect. On the south side, it will probably be easy to break up again quickly.
