Snow report Grisons, 01/21/2014

Snow condition

Still not grandiose, but definitely worth three stars. No contact with stones or alpine herbs. On the south-facing slopes at lower altitudes, however, it looks very lean in places. The foehn wind has done a great job here. In general, it was extremely windy the days before. Where all the snow was blown to is questionable though...if anyone finds it...please let me know:-)

Snow quality

There was about 20 centimeters of fresh snow yesterday, depending on how you catch it, it can be a little more or a little less. The snow has probably fallen without much wind influence, I couldn't find much in the way of drifting or windswept snow today. I could easily give four stars for the freshly fallen snow, it was really light this morning. If I look at the overall snow quality, however, it's more of a good three.

There is still a threesome advertised, which I agree with and can confirm. However, there are signs of a slight relaxation, although this is by no means a license for wild exploits. However, I was more than surprised today at all the steep things that were driven and fortunately held up

Overall impression

This morning was wonderfully cold and fresh snow, felt like a really nice winter's day. Then the easy-going little treat, friends and a relaxed time away from all the WEF hype is worth a foursome to me :-)
