Freeride Weekend in Davos

Snow condition
These masses of snow are unbelievable, even in January. There's about 2 meters of compact pressed snow down to the valley. But there is also a lot of snow in the whole of Prättigau as far as Grüsch, while in the Bernese Oberland almost everything is green up to 1400m.
Snow quality
We had a bit of everything, from super nice powder to nasty crust. Below 2000m, the snow cover is wet and crusty. Above that, it's partly wind-pressed with a lid, but for the most part also pretty powdery.
Risks
favorable. well connected. The weak layers are now under a very thick blanket of snow and can hardly be influenced. In addition, the warmth has increasingly reduced the risk of avalanches.
Overall impression
We had great fun. It was a pleasure just to marvel at these huge masses of snow. We had great descents on Jakobshorn to Mühle, on Rinerhorn on Nüllischgrat and into Sertig as well as on Pischa (Giraffe). Surprisingly, all of them are still very busy. There were very few people and still plenty of space. Maybe because of Donald Trump?
